HISTORY :
Keimyung University abbreviated as KMU or Keimyung is a private university located in Daegu, the fourth largest city in South Korea. The university takes roots from Jejungwon founded in 1899. The higher education started in 1954 with the support of the leaders of the Northern Presbyterian Church of the U.S. as a Christian university. KMU is composed of three campuses in the city of Daegu, South Korea. They are named for their locations within the city; Daemyeong, which is near the downtown area, Seongseo, which is in the western part of the city, and also Dongsan campus which includes Dongsan Medical Center. The university’s Seongseo campus is known as one of the most beautiful campuses in South Korea.

Activities:
KCEP(Korean Cultural Experience Program)
The Korean Cultural Experience Program (KCEP) provides students with unique opportunities to experience traditional Korean culture in the traditional Korean village on campus, Keimyung Hanhakchon. A variety of courses on art, music, handcrafts, and calligraphy are offered once a week through every semester. No fee is charged for the tuition. Some classes are required to pay for materials.
Keimyung Cross-Cultural Awareness Program (KMU-CCAP)
The Keimyung Cross-Cultural Awareness Program (KMU-CCAP) has been organized by Keimyung University, and it is designed to augment education for international understanding in Korean Elementary, Middle and High schools while promoting a culture of tolerance and mutual respect. KMU-CCAP invites international students residing in Korea to Korean classrooms for them to show their own culture to Korean students.
Application Submission: International students must complete an online application form and submit the required documents, which typically include academic transcripts, English proficiency test scores (such as TOEFL or IELTS), letters of recommendation, and a personal statement or essay.
Visa Application: After being accepted, international students must apply for a student visa at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate in their home country. To obtain a student visa, the student must provide a valid passport, an acceptance letter from the university, and proof of financial support.
Arrival and Enrollment: Once the student arrives in Korea, they must attend an orientation session and register for classes.
Admission Review: Once the application and supporting documents are received, the university will review the application and make an admission decision based on the applicant’s academic background, English proficiency, and other qualifications.
Interview (Optional): Some departments or programs may require an interview as part of the admission process. The interview may be conducted in-person or via video conference.
