HISTORY : 

Jeonbuk National University is one of ten Flagship Korean National Universities founded in 1947, located in Jeonju, South Korea. Jeonbuk National University has been ranked 551–560th in the world by QS Top Universities Ranking in 2023. Jeonbuk National University was founded in 1947 under the name of Chonbuk National University, following the liberation of the Republic of Korea, by the Provincial fund within the framework of the Korean national university system; it is one of 10 Flagship Korean National Universities.

Student Enrollment:

As of 2023, Jeonbuk National University has 32,000 enrolled students, and 2,000 faculty and staff members with educational, research and support facilities.

University Programs:

Jeonbuk National University now offers courses in major areas of academic studies with 16 colleges and 14 graduate schools including the College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences and College of Business Administration. Some of the most popular programs at Jeonbuk National University include Jimmy Carter School of International Studies. 

International Students:

Jeonbuk National University maintains cooperative programs with international educational institutions, and more than 500 international students are enrolled in its degree programs, in addition to around 100 international researchers.

Activities:

Traditional Korean Culture Experience

1. There is “Traditional Korean Culture Experience” program available in the undergraduate course. Graduate students can also attend this program.
2. Class Hours: Total 32 hours (3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday, 8 hours/day for 3 weeks)
3. Contents: Theory and Experience of Traditional Korean Culture
4. Fee: Free of charge

Application Submission: International students must complete an online application form and submit the required documents, which typically include academic transcripts, English proficiency test scores (such as TOEFL or IELTS), letters of recommendation, and a personal statement or essay.

Visa Application: After being accepted, international students must apply for a student visa at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate in their home country. To obtain a student visa, the student must provide a valid passport, an acceptance letter from the university, and proof of financial support.

Arrival and Enrollment: Once the student arrives in Korea, they must attend an orientation session and register for classes.

Admission Review: Once the application and supporting documents are received, the university will review the application and make an admission decision based on the applicant’s academic background, English proficiency, and other qualifications. 

Interview (Optional): Some departments or programs may require an interview as part of the admission process. The interview may be conducted in-person or via video conference. 

Admission Notification: Applicants will be notified of their admission decision via email or mail.

Jeonbuk National University Korean language training program

The Intensive Korean Language Course was designed to help foreign students who want to apply for undergraduate or graduate school in Korea, to learn the Korean language systematically. There are 6 levels in this course, from level 1 to level 6 to meet the demands of students at different levels of proficiency. Students from around the world, who want to speak Korean fluently, are taking this course.
