HISTORY :
Dongguk University is a private, coeducational university in South Korea, fundamentally based on Buddhism. Established in 1906 as Myeongjin School by Buddhist pioneers of the Association of Buddhism Research, the university gained full university status as Dongguk University in 1953. The university remains one of the few Buddhist-affiliated universities in the world, and is a member of the International Association of Buddhist Universities.

As of 2023, Dongguk University has approximately 13,701 undergraduate students and 1,801 graduate students.
University Programs:
Dongguk University, its comprehensive academic programme offers 53 undergraduate majors, together with 59 graduate programmes including the College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Natural Sciences and College of Business Administration. Some of the most popular programs at Dongguk University include Department of Police Administration, Buddhist Studies, North Korean Studies
International Students:
The international student population in Dongguk University reaches approximately 2,000. Approximately 200 exchange students are admitted into Dongguk University per year.
Activities:
Dongguk University offers many club activities. Once you settled in Dongguk University, you may join various club activities such as music, drama, sports, academic research etc. Student Hall is a building on campus near the rear gate of the university; it is dedicated completely to student activities.
Application Submission: International students must complete an online application form and submit the required documents, which typically include academic transcripts, English proficiency test scores (such as TOEFL or IELTS), letters of recommendation, and a personal statement or essay.
Visa Application: After being accepted, international students must apply for a student visa at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate in their home country. Dongguk University korea Korean language training program
The Korean Language Regular course operates a 4 hour class 5 times a week for 10 weeks and a 4 hour cultural experience program which is to be held 3 times in a semester. Integrated learning such as, listening, speaking, reading and writing and also through games and discussions students are provided more speaking opportunities. The Regular Course comprises of 6 levels Level1, Level2, Level3, Level4, Level5, Level6.
