Computer literacy certificate
It’s a certificate that many Koreans see. It’s almost basic, and I use it as a graduation condition for many departments. The test is divided into first and second grades. Level 1 is harder than Level 2. In other words, level 1 is better than level 2. The test is divided into writing (multiple choice) and practical (computer work type), and you have to pass the written test to take the practical test! If you are a second-grade student, you will get 40 points or more out of 100 written subjects, an average of 60 points or more, and 70 points or more in practical skills! Level 1 is the same as level 2, and you pass the practical test if you get more than 70 points in two subjects out of 100 points! Test time is 40 minutes each for writing and practical skills, level 1 is 60 minutes for practical skills, and 90 minutes for practical skills! For writing, we take computer general and spreadsheet in common, and level 1 additionally takes the database. Computer general is a memorization subject dealing with computer history, devices, functions of Microsoft Windows, etc., spreadsheets are related to Microsoft Excel, and databases are related to Microsoft access.

It is an international qualification test that measures the ability to use Microsoft Office. It is a certificate that can be used a lot because it is applied in many countries other than Korea. As of January 2023, you can take the MOS 2016 in Korea. As a test program, of course, I only use the office for Microsoft Windows. In the case of MOS 2016, there are 5 subjects in total, and the required subjects are Word (Advanced Expert), Excel (Advanced Expert), and PowerPoint, and you can choose either Access or Outlook as an optional subject!
